SYNOPSIS

Is a remake of the 2014 Norwegian vigilante film In Order of Disappearance, also directed by Moland.

Nels Coxman's quiet life as a snow-plow driver in a glitzy Rocky Mountains resort town is disrupted when his beloved son is murdered under mysterious circumstances. His search for the cause turns into a quest for revenge against a psychotic drug lord named Viking. Using his hunting skills to transform himself from upstanding citizen to cold-blooded vigilante, Coxman sets out to dismantle the carte.

REVIEW SUMMARY

Surprise: Cold Pursuit isn’t just another paint-by-numbers Taken-esque outing for Neeson - it’s a rather impressive snow covered revenge thriller with biting dark comedy! What makes this film especially great is the cast of characters we are presented throughout (Tom Jackson’s “White Bull" mob-boss is a fantastic highlight). Sure Neeson does his usual grimace-heavy performance, but at this point, he has it down to perfection. The movie also does this wonderful job of meshing the gritty revenge sequences with laugh out loud black comedy. And the story is not as cut and dry as you’d expect as there are lots of fun little turns and deviations that keep it interesting until the very end (maybe things get a tad too convoluted though). Make no mistake, Cold Pursuit is the frigid Liam Neeson action movie we all deserve.
