SYNOPSIS

For a long time, Natalie, an architect living in New York City, had always believed that what she had seen in rom-coms is all fantasy. But after getting knocked out while fleeing a mugger, Natalie wakes up and discovers that she is self-aware of her existence in a "PG-13 Rom-Com Universe."

REVIEW SUMMARY

If you learn anything from Isn't It Romantic, it's that a Rom-Com about clichéd Rom-Coms makes for a perfectly decent Rom-Com. I mean, the film isn’t perfect (the comedy never gets past the chuckle barrier), but its sweet and predictable spirit make for an oddly infective and enjoyable experience. I just wish they went with a more subtle approach sometimes, as things become less funny the more they explain the satire in round about ways. But with plenty of nice and harmless  moments to be had, Isn't It Romantic is definitely easy to like - just maybe not love.
