A tragic accident soon leaves them facing a zero-tolerance policy for crime: either you'll be executed, or, if you're rich enough to afford it, you can watch yourself die instead through a clone.

REVIEW SUMMARY

Terrifyingly transfixing in every which way, Infinity Pool is an unflinching psycho horror show for the ages! Yes, the Cronenberg family has really embraced (and nailed) these heady sci-fi nightmares at this point. And trust me when I tell you, Infinity Pool is no exception to their impressive roster. The film is dripping with danger and intrigue from the get-go thanks to an uneasy score and some twisty camera techniques. And, as things move along, we remain on edge (the very edge) in anticipation of the impending horror. And when it hits, well, it’s balls-to-the-wall insanity – in a good way. You see, the clone concept is given an interesting twist as it serves to highlight the perceived immunity of the world’s “one-percenters.” It’s interesting, and it goes in some unexpectedly wild directions. But, seeing as this is a Cronenberg film and all, our young director opts to show us everything, leaving nothing (and I mean nothing) to the imagination. Yes, there will be blood – lots of blood (and just about every other type of bodily fluid for that matter). And with the violence and disturbing images at max level, it will undoubtably prove a little too much for some viewers. Fortunately, the performances are thoroughly measured, as Alexander Skarsgard truly embraces the chaos, while Mia Goth makes for a perfectly unhinged seductress. There’s no question about it, Infinity Pool is one such sci-fi outing that you won’t soon forget – and not just because of the graphic gore that will be permanently burned into your memory.
