SYNOPSIS
Based on the 2006 Japanese film of the same name.
Sheltered since early childhood, Katie Price lives with a life-threatening sensitivity to sunlight caused by the rare genetic condition. Katie's world opens up after dark when she ventures outside to play her guitar. One night, her dreams come true when she’s noticed and asked out by her long-time crush, Charlie whom she’s secretly watched from her bedroom window for years.
REVIEW SUMMARY
"This is a harmless teen romance that ends up doing exactly what it needed to do: make you care. However, there are LOTS of cringe-inducing moments to be found throughout. And while the acting is all around iffy, Rob Riggle does turn in a surprisingly touching performance at times. And yes, the target audience (pre-teen girls) are likely to swoon hard for Patrick Schwarzenegger. Too bad he completely lacks the onscreen charisma of his famous father. Perhaps Midnight Sun is best enjoyed during young girl sleepover parties."
