SYNOPSIS

Is a sequel to Creed (2015) and the eighth instalment in the Rocky film series. It is also co-written by Sylvester Stallone.

In 1985, the Soviet boxer Ivan Drago killed former heavyweight boxing champion Apollo Creed during an exhibition fight in Las Vegas. That same year, Rocky Balboa defeated Ivan Drago in a boxing match on Christmas Day in the Soviet Union. Thirty-three years later, Apollo Creed's son Adonis seeks to avenge his father's death by fighting Drago's son Viktor.

REVIEW SUMMARY

Creed 2 is a near perfect knockout of a sequel delivering on virtually everything you want out of a “Rocky movie." For starters, the performances are top notch with Stallone having the aged and weathered Rocky character down to a T at this point. Meanwhile, Michael B. Jordan once again proves himself to be a more than worthy leading man. The tension is on extra high throughout (in and out of the ring) and there are plenty of those signature motivational moments to be found. Throw in that killer soundtrack and mix in the right amount of nostalgia, and you've got a winning formula. Speaking of that formula - well, it remains pretty much the same as it was in the 80’s. So yes, you can totally see where it’s all headed, but trust me, you’ll still get sucked right into that boxing ring and feel like you're fighting  alongside Creed himself. So gloves up and enjoy!
