SYNOPSIS

REVIEW SUMMARY

Escape Room delivers jussssst enough tension to move the needle past the “ho-hum horror” mark. As advertised, you get to see people attempt to get out of a variety of escape room death traps. And what can I say, it’s all very entertaining! But lets call a spade a spade: this is a total rip-off of the SAW movies (I almost half expected to see ‘ol Jigsaw himself pop out at certain points). Lucky for us, this movie is actually better than the previous 5 or so Saw film instalments. They kinda do Saw better than Saw. The escape room scenarios we get are actually quite inventive, but unfortunately the characters "participating" in them are as 1 dimensional as you’d expect. Things like dialogue and plot developments are also weak, BUTTT there is no escaping the PG horror fun inside this film!
