REVIEW SUMMARY
Countdown, or as some are calling it: "the haunted app movie," ultimately amounts to tacky teen horror that nearly becomes instantly forgettable the moment it ends. And it’s a shame, seeing as how the premise could have made for a rather thrilling movie-going experience along the lines of other “cheating death” films the likes of Final Destination. Unfortunately, this movie only cheats you out of your money. And with everything from plot to tension (on any level) falling majorly flat here, we are left with a subpar movie that doesn't really know what it wants to be. Is it to be taken seriously? Played for laughs? It appears the filmmakers wanted it both ways, but achieved neither. If only there was an app to erase this whole thing from existence..
