Irresistible is sadly anything but! In fact, it’s downright disappointing. For years on the Daily Show, Jon Stewart gave us the most biting political commentary of the day. The writing was sharp, the messages clear, and the comedy funny as all hell. So, one would assume, with the great host/comedian having written and directed a political film, it would be just as cleverly irreverent. Well, not so much. And it’s not that the film is all bad (it’s really not, I swear), as there are amusing performances and some rather funny gags. The dialogue is also crisp and the production slick. But, it’s just too hollow at its core. It’s an obvious story with an obvious message. It’s too glossy to be anything overly special. And with that, Irresistible falls in the mediocre column, not likely to get many votes for Dramedy of the Year.
