REVIEW SUMMARY
You might want to have something you can hold on tight to while watching Netflix’s His House, as this is one creep-tastic bit of palpable nightmare fuel. Yep, Remi Weekes has knocked it of the park in his debut feature directing effort here. And like the dilapidated “haunted house” featured in the movie, this story has many, many layers to it – each more terrifying than the last. There is also an interesting bit of mystery at hand, and frankly it pays off perfectly with a rather gut-wrenching revelation by the end. Praise should also be handed to Wumnu and Sope who do wonders in their roles as the refugee couple. So yes, while this will certainly appease the horror connoisseur looking for general frights, it will also provide a heavy dose of societal horrors – not to mention traumatic terrors from the past. You’ve been warned!
