REVIEW SUMMARY
In the most deliciously unhinged surprise of the year, Mark Mylod’s The Menu serves up just enough satire and horror to earn a chef’s kiss! It’s hard to talk about without going into spoiler territory, but just know that there is a real danger/excitement mix that never lets up. It also helps that there is plenty to chew on from a thematic standpoint. And yes, the skewering of the wealthy has been done before, it’s never been done quite like this. Is it haute-cuisine torture porn you are after? This meal is for you. If it’s biting comedy you crave? Take a bite. If it’s delectably acted performances you want? Take on this plate (looking at you Ralph Fiennes and Anya-Taylor Joy). Yep, any way you slice it, chop it, or cook it, The Menu delivers a truly entertaining metaphorical takedown of high society. Heck, put on a double feature with this and Triangle of Sadness, and you’ll be ready to take on elitist billionaires everywhere!
