REVIEW SUMMARY
Another year, another Lindsay Lohan Netflix holiday rom-com. And, well, Irish Wish is just as predictably silly (and green-infused) as you think it’s going to be. So, I guess you can say it’s exactly as advertised. And just like in her Christmastime rom com Falling For Christmas, you can tell that the once troubled actress is embracing the cheesiness of it all. She, are the rest of the cast for that matter, are clearly having fun with it. And, in turn, we do as well. Afterall, these movies are not meant to reinvent the genre or deconstruct it any way (not by a long shot). Rather, they are comforting in their predictability. And boy let me tell you, this movie is very predictable. You will know exactly how it’s going to turn out from the second it starts. The “wish come true” stuff is also very eye-rollingly cliched, as is all the other plot beats for that matter. However, it must be said that the movie’s production design is pretty charming. I mean, it’s definitely a step-up from those Hallmark Channel rom coms. So, while Irish Wish isn’t as special as a four-leaf clover or anything, it’s not a complete empty pot of gold either. I can’t wait for LiLo’s take on an Easter rom com next year (just assuming, of course).
