REVIEW SUMMARY
Lennox Lewis: The Untold Story is a candid ringside seat to the triumph of a true fighting icon. And much like Lennox himself, the documentary forgoes the brashness associated with the sport of Boxing and plays out in a thoughtful and even charming manner. That’s not to say fight fans won’t get their fill of “knock ‘em out” boxing footage – trust me, there are plenty of those too. Perhaps the most fascinating parts of this doc, however, are the unearthed “camcorder” footage of our star outside of the ring. Be it in training, on a safari tour, or dancing in the dressing room, it all goes a long way in showcasing the man and his mindset during the times discussed. And while there’s no denying Lennox’s story is a remarkable one, this movie is unfortunately not going to be adding a whole lot of new knowledge of its subject to boxing fans at large. But for everyone else, well, this is one hard-hitting journey with a winning spirit you’ll want to take.
