REVIEW SUMMARY
Standard Sandler fare with chuckles to be had, Murder Mystery 2 is a slice of comfort comedy viewing. And hey, Jennifer Aniston is also here too, lest I forget. Yes, the bona fide celeb duo appears to be having a blast and I’d be lying if I said their onscreen amusement wasn’t contagious. As far as the plot goes, however, it all falls into typical sequel territory. That is, it doubles down on elements of the first instalment, while not necessarily improving on them. It’s inferior. Ok, I said it. But, it’s also harmless and silly. And hey, sometimes that’s what you need in your life. If you are looking for a thought provoking whodunnit with genuine intrigue and twists, this ain’t it – by a long shot. Murder Mystery 2 is goofy for the sake of being goofy. It’s fluff entertainment with big stars and an exotic locale (Paris, in case you were wondering). It’s an Adam Sandler movie for crying out loud. And with a runtime of less than an hour and a half, it’s hard to complain about the time investment. Mystery solved.
