REVIEW SUMMARY
Poms is perhaps best described as a hackneyed senior citizen cheerleading movie with pep. I mean, this movie is full of lots of things, among them being cliches and gyrating grannies. On the cliche front, the life lessons on display and character arcs can be seen from miles and miles away. More so, the "elderly humour" is actually borderline offensive at times - and that's coming from a Millennial. Luckily however, there is some undeniable fun to be found, especially in the film's final act. As performances go, I will say that Keaton and Weaver have a rather uniquely lovable chemistry together (who would have thought?). So, if you're looking for a harmless, yet ultimately forgettable, cinematic romp with the 70+ crowd, Poms will likely give you something to cheer about.
