REVIEW SUMMARY

Gruesome, bloody, and outrageously fun – Final Destination Bloodlines is the paranoid-fueled doom ride you hoped for. Yes, the franchise that once made you afraid of tanning beds, logging trucks, and gymnastics is back to make you fear even more everyday things. Think: MRI machines gone haywire, broken glass chilling in your drink, and body piercing mishaps. That is to say that there are plenty of things this movie will “ruin” for a brand-new generation. The iconic big opening disaster? This time it unfolds atop a sleek rooftop restaurant on a skyscraper — and it plays out exactly the way you think it will. But what you might not expect from this gory spectacle is... heart. Yes, really. Beneath the carnage, there’s a surprisingly sweet (and dare I say, emotional?) focus on family. I mean, you probably won’t cry — but you will gasp, squirm, and shout at the screen. Which, let’s be honest, is the whole point. This sixth installment also manages to inject some fresh life into the franchise, thanks to a clever twist rooted in its family-centric plot. It ties in neatly with the lore, making it feel less like a tacked-on sequel and more like a love letter of sorts. And then there’s the final appearance of the late, great Tony Todd. His haunting voice alone is the perfect cherry on top. Now, is Final Destination Bloodlines a perfect movie? Of course not. The dialogue gets clunky, and some of the CGI feels like it could’ve used another pass. But none of that really matters when the film delivers on its core promise: outrageous, inventive, over-the-top horror fun - the silly, splattery, scream-inducing kind. And frankly, that’s all we ever wanted, right?
