REVIEW SUMMARY
Gloriously unpredictable and brilliantly bonkers, Strange Darling is guaranteed to be the most memorable viewing experience you’ll have all year! But here’s the thing, you’ll want to go into the film with a complete blank slate (don’t worry, I won’t dare spoil things here). Just know that the movie is about a serial killer and is told in six parts. Those parts are jumbled though, so revelations come about like a puzzle being put together. It’s wildly fun stuff, and it’s made even more captivating thanks to the impeccable performances from Kyle Gallner and Willa Fitzgerald – the latter really going for broke with her ambitious output. The movie also has an electric vibe, this thanks to its breakneck pace and biting dialogue. The music stings and the cinematography is also surprisingly superb. As for themes, it’s all about the dynamics and politics around gender. And, well, let’s just say it gets its point across by the end. In short, there truly is a lot to love about Strange Darling, and I guarantee you’ll love watching it all unfold from start to finish.
