REVIEW SUMMARY
The Hummingbird Project tells an intriguing tale, even if not based on true events. You see, this has the exact look and feel of one of those “based on an unbelievable true story” movies - but alas, it isn't. Fact VS fiction aside, the film has a tendency to go very “insider” at times with an overabundance of technical jargon coming out of the character’s mouths. Sure you’ll get the gist of things, but an understanding of “high-frequency trading” and “ultra-low latency direct market access” would go a long way. As for those characters, our two protagonists are always easy to root for and rather fun to watch. The cast delivers equally great performances across the board, with Skarsgard especially mesmerizing in an unrecognizable turn as a balding genius with poor social skills. So while the Hummingbird Project isn’t quite a total humdinger, it’s definitely a worthy project.
