REVIEW SUMMARY

First Man is sometimes emotional, often harrowing, but always brilliant. This is an impressively well crafted film that features beautiful visuals, a moving soundtrack and impeccable performances. Ryan Gosling is especially on his A-game here, proving he is one of the best actors of his time. The plot is also surprisingly tension filled - not an easy feat considering we already know the outcome thanks to our school's History books. However, things do get a tad mechanical in the end with an overabundance of "space jargon." This is a movie that works best in the more personal moments (not necessarily the space stuff). Lucky for us, we get lots of those!
