SYNOPSIS
Frances, a young woman trying to make it on her own in New York City, doesn't hesitate to return a handbag she finds on the subway to its rightful owner. That owner is Greta, a lonely, eccentric French piano teacher with a love for classical music. Having recently lost her mother, Frances quickly grows closer to widowed Greta. The two quickly become friends—but things grow increasingly disturbing as Frances discovers that nothing in Greta's life is what it seems.
REVIEW SUMMARY
Greta viewing instructions: Step 1- embrace the camp. Step 2- enjoy a ride on a crazy-train of grim suspense! Sure Greta is chock full of familiarity at first glance, but trust me, it evolves into some serious bonkers level fun – if you let it. The story itself is about 80% preposterous, and needless to say, requires a whole heck of a lot of "stretching of the imagination" from its audience. The performances keep it all worthwhile as our 2 leads go all in with what they've been presented, especially Hupert (who is surprisingly really good at tossing dinner tables btw). When all is said and done, Greta amounts to something fairly forgettable, but in the moment, you'll surely enjoy the weird fast food thriller you've been served.
