SYNOPSIS

In the seedy underbelly of Los Angeles, two clashing detectives -- one human and the other a puppet -- must work together to solve the brutal murders of former cast members of a beloved puppet TV show.

REVIEW SUMMARY

"The Muppets gone wild concept of The Happytime Murders feels so wrong, but also kinda right. And while there are certainly scenes that hit the mark, ultimately the script is lacking - big time. The shock value laughs wear off super quick (like in the first 15 minutes) and you're left expecting things to get better - but they never do. I will say that I liked McCarthy's work here and am super happy to see her take some comedic risks (her previous films have been wayyyy too harmless and safe). All in all, The Happytime Murders had potential to be great, but it never gets past ‘meh"
