SYNOPSIS

Based on the 1997 book Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror by Steve Alten.

A massive creature (75 foot long prehistoric shark) attacks a deep-sea submersible, leaving it disabled and trapping the crew at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. With time running out, rescue diver Jonas Taylor must save the crew and the ocean itself.

REVIEW SUMMARY

"The Meg is basically the middle ground between Sharknado and Jaws. It’s ridiculous, but not Sharknado ridiculous. It’s got some frights, but not Jaws level frights. If it's “shark chomps”and an over the top hunt you crave, it delivers. If it's a  gripping story or serious believability you want, forget it. Also, the less I say about the atrocious romantic subplot the better. BUT, The Meg is about as much of a Summertime guilty pleasure as you can get -- emphasis on the guilty."
