SYNOPSIS

A loose remake of the 2000 film What Women Want.

Ali Davis is a successful sports agent who’s constantly boxed out by her male colleagues. When Ali is passed up for a well-deserved promotion, she questions what more she needs to do to succeed in a man’s world, until she gains the ability to hear men’s thoughts. With her newfound power, Ali looks to outsmart her colleagues as she races to sign the next basketball superstar.

REVIEW SUMMARY

What Men Want is likely not going to be what movie goers want out of this "remake." You know the story, you know the beats, you know the lessons… it just takes SO LONG to get them. Yes, being predictable isn’t a bad thing, but only if it is satisfying in the end - this wasn’t. The movie has an odd mix of just terrible, groan worthy comedy and some genuinely funny moments – in other words, it's all kinds of uneven. Clichés are a plenty and cameos are wasted (Shaq, Marc Cuban, and even SNL’s Pete Davidson doesn’t add much). However, Henson does deserve credit for totally "going for it" here – she’s so very over the top (perhaps teetering on annoying) in a rather bombastic performance. But sadly, this overlong movie is just another "miss" in the remake column.
