REVIEW SUMMARY
A literal bloody good time, The Wrath of Becky is revenge cinema done right. That is to say that it has a vengeful character you can truly root for (think a teenage girl version of John Wick) and bad guys you can’t wait to see get their comeuppance! Yes, it’s as simple as that. I mean, the film is also blessed with a wonderful cast, including a delightfully evil Seann William Scott. It’s Stifler the quasi Neo Nazi folks! But seriously, he’s more than effective in the role, as is our unlikely heroine, played by a returning Lulu Wilson. Yes, I said returning. That is because this is a sequel. But don’t worry, you don’t need to have seen the 2020 instalment to enjoy this one. They fill you on from the get-go really. That, and it’s refreshingly not complicated. Bad people do (and plan to do) bad things, and they receive a healthy (and violent) dose of karma. Could the “kills” have been a bit more creative? I suppose, but this isn’t Home Alone, and Becky sure as heck isn’t playing around. What can I say, sometimes a good ‘ol fashion blood splattering is just what the doctor ordered!
