Alita: Battle Angel is a nice enough looking futuristic sci-fi film, but has way too much story to tell. There is an over abundance of moving parts in this movie as it features everything from cyborgs to bounty hunters to evil sport promoters to hidden worlds to forbidden love to…well, you get the picture. But somehow, even with all the stuff  shoehorned into the plot, they still leave things open for (shocker) a sequel. And yes, while the script could have used some restraint, the film does boast a great visual style with exceptional CGI work - as evident by the impressive motion capture used to create the titular character. The effects heavy action sequences are also pretty dynamic, and lucky for us we get lots of those. But to be clear, Blade Runner this isn't.
