REVIEW SUMMARY
Brian and Charles delivers all the quirky British humour you can handle, and then some. I mean, it’s also a really sweet and enjoyable tale of friendship and robotic coming-of-age. You see, in a day and age filled with big budget superhero blockbusters, a simple, yet well-made, family friendly comedy is rather refreshing. Is it silly? 100%. But the charm is cranked to the max. It’s also fun that this is not some special effects heavy movie (like most other robot flicks). In fact, everything was done mostly “in camera,” only adding to the appeal of it all. Brian and Charles is a buddy comedy through and through, with David Earl and Chris Hayward having immaculate chemistry with one another (well, they have been working together for years and this was adapted from a stage play and short film). So yes, if it’s a peculiar and legitimately funny movie you are after, this should be your first stop. Brian and Charles your best bet for inoffensive live-action fun!
