REVIEW SUMMARY
Compared to the 1st instalment, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald has 10 times more intensity, story, and characters - all that to say the film could probably use an antacid for all the bloat. And if you are like me, you will feel like you binged 3 movies in a row after taking in everything this film throws at you. However, the visuals are once again wondrous throughout, and everything from wardrobe to set design is exquisite. The musical score is enchanting too! The problem once again is that there is just TOO MUCH of, well, everything. One can only take so many "information dumps" and new character introductions before it all gets overly muddled. But for those wondering, Johnny Depp is actually perfectly devilish as an "evil steampunk Billy Idol" looking Grindlewald! Speaking of which, you should note that this movie gets very dark at times - not a bad thing, just another major change from the first film. Perhaps best put, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald is a fantastically bloated beast of a movie.
