REVIEW SUMMARY
A cheesy and cheap bit of American patriotism, Interceptor plays as a laughable B-movie. Listen, I’m all for films that are self-aware and know what they are, but you can tell this movie was trying to be earnest in its depictions. But, nothing works. The acting is quite sad really, while the dialogue is abysmal. And the “action”, while surprisingly graphic, is pretty damn lame. The story is also one big eye roll. But, it’s the special effects that may be the worst offenders. For example, there are some explosions that look like they were done by some 12-year-old for a 2005 YouTube video. And for all the pro-American themes at hand, it’s rather ironic that the whole thing was made by an Australian film company. In fact, famous Aussie Chris Hemsworth, not only produces it, but makes a terribly lazy cameo. With different people at the wheel, this may have worked. It's got 90s-level Chuck Norris written all over it. Unfortunately, it not nearly as fun. It’s best that you let this movie get intercepted before hitting play.
