REVIEW SUMMARY
Ilya Naishuller’s Nobody is a balls to the wall goldmine of violent action! In short – it’s bad ass! Yep, if you like the gonzo visceral assaults found in films the likes of John Wick, then this is a must watch. But, it’s not all “bang bang/punch punch,” however, as the story also gives way to a decidedly fun set of character developments. Much like the aforementioned John Wick, there is a lot more to our titular “nobody” than meets the eye, making for quite the enjoyable set of discoveries. It also helps that the character is brought to life by the uber talented Bob Odenkirk, who not only delivers his usual affable charm here, but absolutely nails the action components. From Mr. Show to Better Call Saul to now this, Odenkirk is proving to be a reliably versatile thespian. It’s also worth mentioning the interesting things done on the directing and editing fronts. The movie’s unique stylization stands out as a particularly fun element to the proceedings. Admittedly though, things get a tad overly ludicrous by the end. Luckily, it never stops being entertaining. In fact, Nobody is an adrenaline rush from start to finish. If your pulse isn’t racing by the finish line, then may I recommend a visit to your doctor!
