REVIEW SUMMARY
The Hustle, a gender swapped remake of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, definitely has the 'rotten' part down. Despite the odd (forced) chuckle, what we get here is a mostly humourless slog that never utilizes it's 2 leading ladies properly. And maybe it was due to the material they had to work with (or not), but Hathaway and Wilson showcase zero comedic chemistry together. I mean, both are no doubt talented, but it's nothing but cringeworthy scene after cringeworthy scene from the get go. The script is also embarrassingly un-clever, and thanks in part to a "french fry toilet scene," I may never eat again. The hustle is definitely real folks, but it's your hard earned movie money that's the ultimate victim.
