REVIEW SUMMARY
"Winchester is that odd horror movie that is more boring than frightening. There are some decent scares to be had and a few interesting elements to the plot. However, what we mostly get is a lot of nonsense in the overly plodding story and way too many (cheap) jump scares. The movie is also disappointing from a visual standpoint given the interesting and large space they had to work with. The film's highlights are definitely Mirren and Clarke’s acting in their respective roles. Lowlights include a useless subplot with a mother and her possessed son. In the end, this film disappoints in a scary way."
